Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (this "Policy") applies to Customer's and its Authorized Users' access to and use of the Janet AI Software, related services, and any other products or services made available by Janet AI under an applicable agreement or Order, online order flow, or other applicable terms, including any Hardware (collectively, the "Product"). Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the applicable agreement between Janet AI and Customer.
Customer is responsible for ensuring that its Authorized Users and any third party to whom Customer or an Authorized User permits, enables, or facilitates access to the Product comply with this Policy. Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to, access or use the Product in any manner prohibited by this Policy.
1. General Compliance
Customer shall ensure that Customer and its Authorized Users use the Product only for lawful internal business purposes and in accordance with the applicable agreement, order, online order flow, documentation, applicable usage limits, Pricing Page, and this Policy. Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to, use the Product:
- In violation of any applicable law, regulation, or order;
- In violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contractual, or proprietary rights;
- In a fraudulent, deceptive, misleading, harassing, abusive, threatening, defamatory, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful manner;
- To impersonate any person or entity, misrepresent an affiliation, or create accounts or credentials under false pretenses;
- To submit false, misleading, or abusive reports, support requests, or notices to Janet AI;
- In a manner inconsistent with the applicable agreement, order, online order flow, documentation, applicable usage limits, Pricing Page, or intended use of the Product; or
- To record, transcribe, monitor, analyze, summarize, store, share, or otherwise process any meeting, call, conversation, or communication without all legally required notices, consents, permissions, and legal bases.
2. Security and Integrity
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to:
- Access or attempt to access the Product, Customer's Account, any Cloud Deployment, customer-specific workspace, tenant, container, server, environment, agent, Janet AI systems, other customers' data, or Third-Party Services without authorization;
- Trick, defraud, mislead, phish, or otherwise attempt to obtain passwords, credentials, tokens, keys, secrets, or other sensitive account information;
- Circumvent, disable, degrade, bypass, or interfere with any security, access-control, authentication, authorization, usage-limitation, monitoring, rate-limiting, metering, billing, provisioning, logging, or technical protection measure;
- Obtain, attempt to obtain, use, disclose, or circumvent administrator credentials, root access, operating system-level access, device management access, or any other restricted access to Hardware or Product components except as expressly authorized by Janet AI in writing;
- Disable, bypass, remove, impair, or interfere with any Janet AI remote management, monitoring, logging, update, security, access control, administrative, support, or technical protection tool installed, configured, or enabled on Hardware or otherwise used to provide, manage, secure, support, or protect the Product;
- Scan, probe, test, or evaluate the security, integrity, availability, or performance of the Product, Customer's Account, any Cloud Deployment, customer-specific workspace, tenant, container, server, environment, agent, Janet AI systems, or Third-Party Services, except as expressly authorized by Janet AI in writing;
- Upload, transmit, or introduce viruses, worms, Trojan horses, logic bombs, malware, ransomware, malicious code, corrupted files, or other harmful components;
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload, degrade, or create an undue burden on the Product, Customer's Account, any Cloud Deployment, customer-specific workspace, tenant, container, server, environment, agent, Janet AI systems, Third-Party Services, or networks connected to the Product;
- Use the Product to launch, support, or facilitate denial-of-service attacks, credential attacks, unauthorized access attempts, spam campaigns, or other abusive technical activity; or
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notice, usage restriction, security notice, or technical protection included in or displayed by the Product.
3. Data Collection, Scraping, and Automated Access
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to:
- Systematically retrieve, scrape, harvest, extract, or compile data or content from the Product except as expressly permitted by the Product's intended functionality, the applicable agreement, or Janet AI in writing;
- Use robots, spiders, scrapers, crawlers, offline readers, data-mining tools, or similar tools to access the Product, except as expressly authorized by Janet AI in writing;
- Create or compile, directly or indirectly, a collection, compilation, database, directory, or dataset from the Product or Janet AI content without Janet AI's prior written permission;
- Collect usernames, email addresses, account information, or other user information for unsolicited communications or other unauthorized purposes;
- Upload, transmit, or use spyware, web bugs, tracking pixels, passive collection mechanisms, or similar technologies through the Product except as expressly permitted by Janet AI in writing; or
- Use automated systems to create accounts, generate usage, simulate activity, bypass usage limits, manipulate Product functionality, or distort, avoid, or interfere with usage-based pricing, metering, billing, rate limits, or usage-tracking mechanisms.
4. Product Misuse and Competitive Use
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to:
- Copy, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works of, or otherwise exploit the Product except as expressly permitted under the applicable agreement;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive source code, object code, prompts, model configurations, workflows, architecture, structure, organization, algorithms, underlying ideas, or non-public functionality of the Product, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- Install, remove, disable, modify, reconfigure, wipe, reset, image, clone, repurpose, or otherwise alter any Hardware, operating system, software, configuration, user account, credential, permission, device profile, security setting, or management tool except as expressly authorized by Janet AI in writing;
- Open, disassemble, repair, physically tamper with, relocate, transfer, sell, lease, lend, pledge, dispose of, or otherwise make available any Hardware except as expressly authorized by Janet AI in writing;
- Use any Hardware as a general-purpose computer, shared workstation, unmanaged endpoint, personal device, server, storage device, development environment, or for any purpose other than Customer's permitted use of the Product under the applicable agreement or Order;
- Connect unauthorized peripherals, storage devices, networks, systems, or services to any Hardware in a manner that creates security, operational, support, or legal risk;
- Sell, resell, sublicense, distribute, rent, lease, lend, timeshare, provide service-bureau access to, or otherwise make the Product available to any third party except as expressly permitted under the applicable agreement;
- Use the Product to develop, train, improve, test, benchmark, evaluate, or commercialize a competing product or service, except with Janet AI's prior written approval;
- Use the Product outside the scope of the applicable agreement or Order, including applicable usage limits, Authorized User limits, Integration limits, deployment restrictions, Plan limits, Account limits, Pricing Page terms, or technical limitations;
- Access or use the Product in a way intended to avoid fees, manipulate billing, create artificial usage patterns, or evade applicable usage-based pricing; or
- Access, use, modify, interfere with, disable, bypass, impair, overload, or manipulate any Cloud Deployment, customer-specific workspace, tenant, container, server, environment, agent, provisioning process, metering mechanism, billing mechanism, usage-tracking mechanism, or other Product component except as expressly permitted under the applicable agreement.
5. Customer Data, Content, and Communications
Customer is responsible for Customer Data, AI Inputs, prompts, instructions, configurations, workflows, communications, meeting recordings, audio, video, transcripts, summaries, notes, action items, speaker labels, participant names, meeting metadata, and other materials submitted to, captured by, generated by, or processed through the Product by or on behalf of Customer, any Authorized User, or any third party using access enabled by Customer or any Authorized User. Customer is responsible for ensuring that it has all rights, permissions, notices, consents, and legal bases necessary for Customer Data and other materials submitted to, captured by, generated by, or processed through the Product.
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to, submit, upload, transmit, generate, or use Customer Data or Product functionality in a manner that:
- Is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, deceptive, fraudulent, harassing, abusive, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful;
- Violates any third-party intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contractual, or proprietary right;
- Contains malware, malicious code, corrupted files, or harmful technical components;
- Is false, misleading, or likely to deceive recipients, users, or third parties;
- Is intended to harass, abuse, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person or group;
- Involves unsolicited bulk communications, spam, phishing, credential harvesting, or deceptive outreach; or
- Causes or is likely to cause harm to Janet AI, the Product, other customers, Third-Party Services, or any third party.
6. AI, Automation, and High-Risk Uses
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to, use the Product:
- In any life-safety, emergency-response, critical infrastructure, medical, transportation, weapons, or other fail-safe environment where failure, delay, or error could reasonably be expected to result in death, personal injury, severe property damage, or material environmental harm;
- To make or support high-risk decisions requiring guaranteed accuracy, fail-safe performance, or specialized regulatory compliance, except where Customer implements appropriate human review, validation, safeguards, and compliance controls;
- As the sole or primary basis for making employment, credit, housing, insurance, healthcare, legal, eligibility, access, disciplinary, or similarly significant decisions about individuals without appropriate human review and safeguards;
- To generate, approve, send, publish, or implement external communications, workflow actions, code changes, production changes, legal/compliance decisions, meeting decisions, follow-up tasks, action items, speaker attributions, or other material actions without the level of human review and validation appropriate for Customer's use case;
- To generate or assist with harmful, abusive, deceptive, or unlawful content, instructions, or activity;
- To misrepresent AI Outputs, recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes, action items, speaker labels, meeting outputs, or other Product-generated content as human-generated where doing so would be deceptive, unlawful, or inconsistent with Customer's obligations;
- In any manner that Customer or the applicable Authorized User knows or reasonably should know is likely to produce unlawful, harmful, or materially misleading results; or
- To rely on recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes, action items, speaker labels, meeting outputs, or other AI Outputs without the review, validation, and safeguards appropriate for Customer's use case.
7. Recording Feature
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to, use the Recording Feature to record, transcribe, monitor, analyze, summarize, store, share, or otherwise process any meeting, call, conversation, or communication unless Customer has provided all legally required notices, obtained all legally required consents, secured all necessary rights and permissions, and established any required legal basis for such use.
Customer is solely responsible for determining whether and how to use the Recording Feature, including determining whether any meeting, call, conversation, or communication may lawfully be recorded, transcribed, summarized, analyzed, stored, shared, or otherwise processed. Customer is solely responsible for participant notices, consent flows, meeting disclosures, retention settings, sharing permissions, downstream use of recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes, action items, speaker labels, and other outputs, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, employment policies, confidentiality obligations, and third-party platform requirements.
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to, use the Recording Feature:
- To record, transcribe, monitor, analyze, summarize, store, share, or otherwise process any meeting, call, conversation, or communication in violation of any applicable wiretap, eavesdropping, call-recording, privacy, employment, confidentiality, third-party platform, or similar law, rule, obligation, or requirement;
- To engage in surreptitious, deceptive, misleading, or unauthorized recording, transcription, monitoring, or analysis;
- To record, transcribe, monitor, analyze, summarize, store, share, or otherwise process communications where Customer lacks the necessary rights, authority, notices, consents, permissions, or legal basis;
- To misrepresent whether a meeting, call, conversation, or communication is being recorded, transcribed, monitored, analyzed, or summarized;
- To generate, modify, share, or rely on recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes, action items, speaker labels, or other outputs in a manner that is false, misleading, deceptive, unlawful, or likely to harm any person or third party; or
- To use recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes, action items, speaker labels, or other outputs as the sole or primary basis for making employment, disciplinary, legal, compliance, eligibility, access, or similarly significant decisions about individuals without appropriate human review and safeguards.
8. Prohibited Data and Regulated Use
Unless Janet AI expressly agrees otherwise in writing, Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to, use the Product to access, process, store, transmit, or generate:
- Protected health information ("PHI") subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA");
- Payment card data subject to PCI DSS;
- Classified government information, controlled unclassified information, export-controlled technical data, or similarly regulated government data;
- Special-category or sensitive personal data where use would impose material additional compliance obligations on Janet AI;
- Children's data or data from individuals under the age of 13, or under any higher age threshold applicable under relevant law;
- Data subject to legal, professional, or evidentiary privilege where Customer has not determined that use of the Product is appropriate or authorized;
- Meeting recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes, action items, speaker labels, meeting metadata, or other communications data where Customer has not provided required notices, obtained required consents, secured required permissions, and determined that use of the Product is lawful and appropriate; or
- Any other data prohibited by the applicable agreement, Order, documentation, this Policy, or written notice from Janet AI.
9. Third-Party Services
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to:
- Use the Product in a way that violates any terms, policies, documentation, rate limits, technical limitations, or acceptable-use requirements applicable to any Third-Party Services, including any meeting platforms, conferencing services, calendars, communication tools, repositories, productivity tools, third-party AI providers, model providers, APIs, or infrastructure services;
- Use Integrations, credentials, tokens, accounts, or connected systems without appropriate authorization;
- Grant broader permissions to the Product than Customer is authorized to grant or than are appropriate for Customer's use case;
- Use the Product to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise any Third-Party Service;
- Use the Product to access, modify, delete, transmit, or act upon data in any Customer System or Third-Party Service without appropriate authorization, permissions, notices, and consents; or
- Use the Product or Recording Feature with any Third-Party Service to record, transcribe, summarize, analyze, store, share, or otherwise process meetings, calls, conversations, communications, or related data in violation of the applicable Third-Party Service's terms, policies, permissions, participant-notice requirements, or technical limitations.
10. Export Controls and Sanctions
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to, access, use, export, re-export, transfer, or provide the Product in violation of applicable export control, sanctions, anti-boycott, or trade control laws.
Customer shall not, and shall not permit any Authorized User or third party to, use the Product in, or for the benefit of, any country, region, entity, or person subject to applicable sanctions or trade restrictions, or for any prohibited end use.
11. Monitoring and Enforcement
Janet AI has no obligation to monitor Customer's or its Authorized Users' use of the Product, Customer Data, AI Inputs, AI Outputs, recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes, action items, speaker labels, meeting outputs, or activity conducted through Customer's systems or Integrations, including any access or use by third parties enabled by Customer or its Authorized Users. However, Janet AI may investigate suspected violations of this Policy, the applicable agreement, any applicable Order, or applicable law by Customer, any Authorized User, or any third-party using access enabled by Customer or any Authorized User.
Janet AI may suspend, limit, throttle, block, or disable access to the Product, Customer's Account, any Integration, workflow, automation, Cloud Deployment, customer-specific workspace, tenant, container, server, environment, agent, Recording Feature, or other Product feature or component, remove or disable content, limit functionality, block workflows or automated actions, remotely disable, lock, manage, update, monitor, locate, or deactivate Hardware or related Product components, or take other appropriate action if Janet AI reasonably believes that Customer's or any Authorized User's use of the Product, or any third-party access or use enabled by Customer or any Authorized User:
- Violates this Policy, the applicable agreement, any applicable Order, or applicable law;
- Creates security, legal, operational, reputational, or third-party liability risk;
- May harm Janet AI, the Product, other customers, Third-Party Services, or any third party; or
- May compromise the integrity, availability, security, or performance of the Product.
Where practicable, Janet AI will use commercially reasonable efforts to limit any suspension or restriction to the affected portion of the Product. Janet AI may report unlawful or harmful activity to law enforcement, regulators, affected third parties, or relevant service providers where Janet AI determines it is appropriate or legally required.
12. Updates to this Policy
Janet AI may update this Policy from time to time. Unless otherwise stated in the applicable agreement or Order, updates will be effective when posted or otherwise made available by Janet AI; provided that updates will not materially reduce Customer's rights or impose materially greater obligations during an active Order or Subscription Term, period, except where Janet AI determines that the update is reasonably necessary to address legal, security, product-integrity, Third-Party Service, abuse-prevention, recording, consent, privacy, platform-integrity, or similar operational concerns. Janet AI may apply updates immediately where reasonably necessary to address legal, security, product-integrity, Third-Party Service, abuse-prevention, recording, consent, privacy, platform-integrity, or similar operational concerns.
